We’re proud to continue delivering high-quality outcomes that reflect our commitment to excellence.

Working within a fully operational hotel environment, our team delivered a stunning refurbishment that reflects both the client’s vision and ARA’s commitment to excellence. The project demanded coordination, clear communication, and a deep understanding of the hospitality sector’s operational sensitivities.

Working Within a Live Environment

Refurbishing a hotel lobby while guests are checking in, relaxing, or heading to meetings is no small feat. The HIEX project required:

  • Careful scheduling to minimise disruption
  • Noise and dust control to maintain guest comfort
  • Real-time collaboration with hotel operations teams

This level of planning and execution is a hallmark of Viacons approach to complex, high-traffic environments.

Beyond the visual transformation, the spatial layout of the lobby was reimagined to improve flow and functionality for both guests and staff. The redesign introduces a more intuitive circulation pattern, allowing guests to move effortlessly between reception, lounge, and access points. Staff benefit from clearer sightlines and more efficient service zones, which support smoother operations and enhance the overall guest experience. This spatial optimisation reflects a deep understanding of how people interact with space — and how thoughtful design can elevate those interactions.

Lighting and material choices were also carefully considered to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Ambient lighting was layered with accent fixtures to highlight architectural features and guide movement through the space. Natural tones and tactile materials — such as timber, stone, and soft upholstery — were used to evoke comfort and calm, making the lobby feel less like a transitional zone and more like a welcoming destination.

This balance of form and function ensures that the space not only looks exceptional but also feels intuitively hospitable. These upgrades not only elevate the aesthetic appeal but also improve functionality.

ARA’s Commitment to Quality in Hospitality Spaces

Viacon continues to deliver high-quality outcomes across Australia’s hospitality sector. The outcome was to creat spaces that serve people better. This project is a testament to our ability to:

  • Adapt to live environments
  • Collaborate across disciplines
  • Deliver on time and to specification

The HIEX lobby upgrade sets a precedent for future hospitality projects. It demonstrates how thoughtful planning, skilled execution, and strong partnerships can result in seamless transformations — even in the most operationally sensitive environments.
